Sample Overtime Calculation
Based on Flat Rate Pay Plan

All techs are given $8.00 per hour

Based on certifications, the tech will get an additional $.50 per hour (up to 8 certifications)

An L1 tech gets an additional $1.00 per hour.

Efficiency Bonus — billable hours (flag time)

        Up to 25 hours $9.00
        25.1 — 30 hours $10.00
        35.1 — 40 hours $12.00
        45.1 — 45 hours $13.00

Example 1: Tech has 4 certifications, works 40 hours in the shop and 30 hours are billable.

        40 x $10.00 = $400.00     Base Hourly Wage
        30 x $10.00 = $300.00     Efficiency Bonus

        TOTAL     $700.00     for the week

Example 2: Tech has the same certifications, works 45 hours in the shop and has 40 hours billable.

        40 x $10.00 = $400.00     Base Hourly Wage
          5 x $15.00 = $ 75.00    Overtime — time and a half
        40 x $12.00 = $480.00    Efficiency Bonus

        TOTAL    $955.00     for the week

Example 3: Tech has the same certifications, worked 50 hours in the shop and has 45 billable hours.

        40 x $10.00 = $400.00    Base Hourly Wage
        10 x $15.00 = $150.00    Overtime — time and a half
        45 x $13.00 = $585.00    Efficiency Bonus

        TOTAL    $1,135.00     for the week
